The Cedar River is a valuable resource for our community; its headwaters are in an ecological forest preserve that provides clean drinking water for over one million residents, it supports numerous recreational activities, year-round, and it supports federally-listed threatened salmon populations. Volunteers will help improve wildlife habitat and water quality, restoring the Cedar River floodplain byplanting native trees and shrubs. A salmon journey naturalist will be onsite to talk about the remarkable journey of salmon up the Cedar River.
