Creative Horizon at Renton Community Center is the BEST!

My oldest has been going to Highlands Preschool for 3 years and my youngest starts this coming Fall. Highlands has been open for over 55 years - it's an independent preschool that is also a 501c3. The staff is amazing and most of their children attended the school as little ones. I'm honored to be part of the board and to have found such an amazing gem in the Renton Highlands.

Thanks, Evelyn! I've added Creative Horizon to the poll.

There are so many great Preschools here in Renton! My kids attend Cedar River Montessori. We LOVE it there for it's amazing staff and natural surroundings. My kids have received an incredible education before they even turned 5. Thanks for the fun Poll!

Cross & Crown Lutheran Preschool is highly recommended, and my whole family is Catholic. The school & staff NEVER once tried to persuade my faith or the kids to be any different than what we are at home. They consistently teach love, respect and kindness which I can see any faith denomination aspires to, or any parent would want in our children. I have no problem sending my very Catholic kids to Cross & Crown and we live (in Tukwila) 15-20 minutes away from the school. The teachers are loving and careful with the children, and at the same time they concentrate on different levels of basic critical learning which preschool children need. I've been having the best of both worlds for my kids: great care & great academic. The environment is clean and safe for learning & interacting. I have 2 children & 4 neices & nephew who went there and some are still there. No regrets but complete peace of mind & contentment

My two children attend Blossoming Hill Montessori, and our family loves it. While a new school, we opted to follow the founders because of our prior history with them. They are amazingly supportive of each child and their unique needs. Part of their program includes having the children eat break and lunch family style. The children learn to serve themselves, pass food to their friends, table manners, sharing, and other wonderful manners. They also learn about the various food groups and the importance of a balanced diet. My son has severe food allergies, and Blossoming Hill has worked with my family to ensure that whatever food he eats is safe for him. The chef Angelo in combination with April work to create a menu that the children can enjoy while meeting all the needs of busy children. Because of my child's allergies, I am very nervous about food consumption that I did not prepare. Because of the wonderful collaboration I've had with the school, I know that they are ensuring the food is safe for the whole class. Other children at the school also have food allergies, and they have found a way to accommodate everyone. The school works very closely with parents to address any issues with your child. They know that each child learns differently and they will try different methods to fully engage each child. They provide a wonderful Montessori education with an emphasis on the importance of community. We love Blossoming Hill.

Cross & Crown Preschool is a hidden gem near the Cascade area of Renton. They have a 2 day 3 year old program and a 3 & 5 day program for 4 year olds. (And if you feel your child needs 1 more year of readiness before entering kindergarten they even take 5 year olds.) It is really a wonderful program, all the teachers are very good with the children. My older son was diagnosed with ADHD but I didn't know that when he started in preschool. The teachers were very good with him and with me, going through the process of discovering this.

My daughter attends Cross and Crown and she loves it (and so do we!) The teachers are compassionate and patient, which any parent wants for their child's first educational experience. They keep the lessons fun and educational, most recently for the letter "S" week they had spaghetti for snack and had "sports day." They incorporate wonderful events throughout the year, such as a Thanksgiving Feast. And the simple things that occur in the classroom on a weekly basis such as show and tell, passing out napkins during snack, or line leader, all help my daughter grow and learn important interpersonal skills. As a parent, I have enjoyed the way they keep in close contact with us via email, letters/calendars, etc. They even took pictures during her birthday celebration at school and sent them home with her that day. They offer a drop off/pick up door where you can just drive up and have a teacher greet your child and take them to their classroom..this has been wonderful so I don't have to tote my infant into the school on cold/rainy days. And the only homework assignment my daughter has received was during the holidays she brought home a drawing of a Christmas tree to decorate with her family and bring back to school....it was such a wonderful reminder to put aside the hustle and bustle of the holidays and just to enjoy family time together doing a fun activity. Thanks again to all the teachers for giving our daughter and whole family such a wonderful preschool experience.

This is my son's 2nd year at Highland's Preschool and we highly recommend them. The teachers are friendly and have helped ease my son out of his shell. He looks forward to going to school. I can't wait to send my daughter here in a couple of years. I vote for Highland's Preschool!

Blossoming Hill is blessed with two of the best teachers I've ever come into contact with. They challenge the kids to do their best, yet are sensitive to their individual personalities. They pass this on to the kids, because I see the older ones taking care of the younger ones in the same way. If you want your child to not only get a great education, but become a better, more rounded person as well, Blossoming Hill is the place to be

Both My boys have attended Cedar River Montessori and they LOVE to learn new and different things. This, which we feel is very important, sets a foundation for life long learning. In addition, when my boys were evaluated to see if they were Kindergarten ready, they both passed with flying colors and then some! We are very pleased with the education our boys received at Cedar River Montessori.

I believe preschool is a very important part of every child's educational and social development. A good preschool program should give children the building blocks with which they create themselves. In my opinion, Cedar River Montessori's teachers have some of the most impressive academic credentials and experience in the area. This, combined with the school's commitment to continuing education means that every teacher has a variety of tools and methods to tailor each child's educational experience based on that child's strengths and needs. Cedar River Montessori is exactly what I was looking for in a school for my daughter: a top rate education that emphasizes core Montessori principles in an inspired and supportive environment.

I love Cedar River Montessori. It has been in operation since 1981. Both of my boys, ages 3 and 6 attend school there. I could not be happier with the social and academic progress that they have made. I was at first uncertain with the montessori way but I must say they made me a believer. The staff are wonderful and are highly qualified. They are passionate about the school and kids and the whole community makes you feel warm and welcome.

I have sent my 3 kids to Cross and Crown Preschool and they all have loved it! The teachers are very friendly and love working with kids. My older kids who have graduated from Cross and Crown Preschool were prepared for Kindergarten. The building is clean and the space is very kid friendly. They have a lot of great events for the kids and families - Reptile Man, Remlinger Farms Field Trip, Nancy Stewart Concert, Eric Ode Concert, Halloween Party, Buck & Elizabeth Concert and family BBQ, Pacific Science Center Bus, and so much more. Pastor Glen comes over to join the kids with music at least once a week and the kids really love this. They encourage parents to volunteer and keep you in the loop with what is happening at school. I would highly recommend sending your child to Cross & Crown Preschool. I plan to send my 4th child there when she turns 3.

When you drive down the driveway to Cedar River Montessori - you know that you are entering someplace special. The school has a great outdoor campus area including animals (goats, sheep, alpaca, llama) and garden that provide the pre-schoolers opportunities to interact and learn care with nature. Inside, the uniqueness continues. The Montessori teachers are caring and are focused on providing opportunities for your child to blossom. The teachers understand early childhood development with solid background in academic and social growth. They have been able to nurture my one son's love of math. Our youngest son just started and we continue to be impressed with the school. The great thing is that the school continues through middle school - so when your child soars - you can keep him flying!

My son is my second child to attend Highlands Preschool. We have been so lucky to be a part of the family there. The teachers are awesome and the kids have fun while learning. He will be enrolled for 2 more years and my little baby will begin when she is eligible. We love Highlands Preschool!

Blossoming Hill Montessori is an amazing place with phenomenal teachers. Our four children have had an awesome experience at the school. Although our oldest is now in public middle school, she's had the opportunity to volunteer and support the school on a regular basis, paying forward the wonderful Montessori education she received from two of the teachers at Blossoming Hill Montessori. Serving hot breakfast & lunch every day, family style is an invaluable way to practice manners, try new foods, socialize, share, and receive excellent nutrition; an overall unique experience at mealtime. We are also extremely pleased with the Visiting Artist program, allowing our kids to immerse themselves in a variety of projects and movement (clay, wire, wax, drumming, dancing, etc) and gain new perspectives from a multitude of teachers and teaching styles. All this in addition to an excellent Montessori education for our Kindergartener and 4th grader. The community at Blossoming Hill generates incredible support for the families and generally just rocks!

We're very happy with Blossoming Hill Montessori.

My daughter attends Blossoming Hill Montessori. We love it because of the amazing teachers who have a lot of experience and genuinely care about the children. It is a great learning environment that I wish I put her in sooner. My daughter comes home exhausted every day because of all the stimulation!
