6.4 Magnitude Quake Rocks Vancouver, Reaches Renton

The USGS tracks where quakes are felt. According to reports, this one reached as far east as Lincoln, Neb. and as far south as San Francisco, Calif.

At 12:41 p.m. today, Sept. 9, a 6.4 magnitude earthquake rocked Vancouver Island, Canada.

The quake was felt as far east as Lincoln, Neb. and as far south as San Francisco, CA, according to a tracking function on the U.S. Geological Service web site.

By 3 p.m. today, 23 people in the Renton area reported feeling the quake. Most Renton reports came from the 98057 zip code.
