Stroller Strides Expands To Include Gene Coulon, Heritage Park Sessions

Stroller Strides of Renton will host aGrand Opening Celebration for its new Heritage Park sessions on Thursday, September 20 at 9 a.m. The event is free to the public and includes raffle prizes.

Getting in shape isn't an easy task. For new moms, the baby balancing act doesn't make exercise any easier.

Kirstin Uchida is here to help.

After celebrating the anniversary of a successful first year in business last week, Uchida's Stroller Strides of Renton will open up its second location on Thursday, September 20 at Heritage Park in the Renton Highlands.

Uchida's qualifications include a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy with more than 10 years of experience and a STOTT Pilates Rehabilitation certification.

Don't expect a leisurely walk in the park. Each workout includes cardio, strength training, muscle toning and core focus in addition to other conditioning exercises. Uchida's experience as a physical therapist also allows her to modify movements for participants who are expecting another child or require special modifications due to weakness or injury. Expect a new work out every session.

In addition to keeping moms in shape, Stroller Strides of Renton has also helped women overcome postpartum depression through exercise and building relationships with other moms with similar experiences in a safe, welcoming, non-judgmental environment.

The Stroller Strides of Renton Grand Opening Celebration at Heritage Park, 233 Union Ave N.E., begins at 9 a.m. this Thursday, September 20 and is free to the public (registration is encouraged and can be completed online at StrollerStrides.net/Renton). Raffle prizes and treats from Smith Brothers Farms, Plum Organics, Neuro Beverages and more are included.  For more information about Stroller Strides of Renton, visit http://www.strollerstrides.net/renton.
