Panera Bread Opens Today

Panera hires 42 people to staff its new location at The Landing.

Over the past few weeks, there's been a at the corner of Park Avenue N. and N. 10th Street.

First, a boom truck and crew hoisted signage overhead, then artful awnings appeared. Construction workers moved in and out of the opaque storefront like worker bees.

Almost overnight Panera Bread appeared, and it'll open for business at 6 a.m. today. The shop will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

General Manager Rob Morrow oversaw the final touches Thursday evening. While many people celebrate St. Paddy's Day, new employees spent their evening at the store in preparation for the grand opening.

Panera hired 42 people for its Renton store, said Morrow. Many of them are local high school and college-aged young adults.

The , among others, will be at Panera Bread on March 23 at 4 p.m. for a ribbon cutting ceremony.
