New Key Bank Location Opens In Fairwood, Sept. 26

The bank will host a grand opening ceremony on Saturday, October 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m

KeyBank’s newest branch will open on September 26 Renton's Fairwood neighborhood, continuing Key’s branching program in the Greater Puget Sound area.

The new branch is located at 13933 Southeast Petrovitsky Road.

When the 4,296-square-foot branch opens, it will be Key Bank’s 165 Washington state location, and is part of an effort to expand and enhance the bank's presence in the state. It is part of a network of branches stretching from Longview, west to Port Angeles, north to Canada, and east to Spokane.

Between 2009 and 2012, the bank has chipped away at its plan to build approximately 20 new branches and remodel more than half of its Puget Sound area branches.

“The new branch expands our ability to grow and serve our expanding client base throughout the Renton area." said Rick Wirthlin, president of KeyBank’s Seattle-Cascades District. "This branch will make it more convenient than ever for existing and new clients to bank with Key.”

While many banks are closing and consolidating branches nationwide, Wirthlin said, Key Bank is expanding.

“Our research demonstrates that the branch remains critical to the customer’s banking experience, so we continue to invest in the communities of western Washington,” he added.

The bank will host a grand opening ceremony on Saturday, October 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with lunch provided by Applebee’s.

Attendees may enter to win prizes such as a trip for two on Kenmore Air to Victoria, including overnight accommodations, or a $500 Key Possibilities gift card.

Downtown Joe from The Bob Rivers Show will be there and KUBE-FM and Oldies 95.7 FM will provide music. Face painting and balloon art will entertain kids.

Local photographer Gary Silverstein will have his photographs on display at the Fairwood branch.

The new locations has eight flat screen televisions to display helpful information to clients, provide safe deposit boxes, four teller windows and two private banking offices and a conference room for use in meetings requiring customer privacy.

Outside, the branch features a pair of convenient drive-up teller lanes, a 24-hour drive-up ATM and night drop for merchants.

The branch will be managed by Renton resident Sandra Sliskovic, who has 12 years of banking experience, the past eight years with Key.

The branch will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays; and 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
