To be more precise, they are about metrology: the science of measuring.

The multinational corporation works through a business to business model to supply precision measuring and inspection tools to a variety of industries from automotive to aerospace, semiconductor to medical, said advertising and promotions manager for Mitutoyo America Corporation Mark Izumi.

The Renton facility is the first in the Pacific Northwest region of the country, serving as a location for distributors to review products and sample demonstrations.   

“Our goal is to provide timely metrology solutions to our customers, in a region that is home to a booming aerospace industry. The benefit of opening this new M3 Solution Center was the accessibility in offering an experienced metrology specialist to our customers that could provide up to date and knowledgeable metrology information for any situation they may encounter,” said Jeff Thompson Regional Sales Manager, West region.

Similarly, as the importance of STEM education continues to gain ground, Izumi said Mitutoyo is looking to reach out to local educators and schools to seek out vocational opportunities for local youth.

"We're a big advocate of getting some exposure to the world of metrology," he said.
