Kenworth's Andy Douglas Recognized As "Sustainability All-Star"

Kenworth Truck Company's Andy Douglas Named Sustainability All-Star by Green Fleet Magazine. Douglas has led Kenworth's "green truck initiatives" for the past five years.

’s comprehensive green truck program was recognized with Green Fleet magazine’s selection of Kenworth’s Andy Douglas as one of the magazine’s first-ever 40 Sustainability All-Stars. The announcement came at the recent Green Fleet Conference awards banquet in Dallas. 

Douglas has led Kenworth’s “green truck initiatives” for the past five years. As Kenworth’s national sales manager for specialty markets, Douglas has traveled extensively throughout the country to work closely with officials from fleets, non-profit organizations, municipalities, ports and government agencies interested in purchasing fuel efficient and low emission trucks or helping to aid the advancement of green trucks into the marketplace. 

“It’s an honor to represent Kenworth Truck Company in receiving this special recognition from Green Fleet magazine,” said Douglas, who has spent 30 years in the transportation business. “Kenworth’s dedication to the green fleet includes aerodynamic trucks, natural gas trucks, and medium duty diesel-electric hybrids. We are committed to offering quality trucks that help to provide low cost of operation, fuel efficiency and reduced emissions while getting the job done in each customer’s specific application.”

Kenworth is the only truck manufacturer to receive the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Air Excellence award in recognition of its environmentally friendly products. In addition, the fuel-efficient Kenworth T700 equipped with the low-emission PACCAR MX engine was named the 2011 Commercial Heavy Duty Truck of the Year by the American Truck Dealers. 

The 40 Sustainability All-Stars include commercial and public sector fleet managers,  vendors and suppliers with outstanding achievements in green fleet sustainability in 2011. Nominations for the All-Stars were selected based on professional longevity, significant sustainability accomplishments, innovative ways that individuals have contributed to reducing emissions and fuel consumption, and overall industry involvement.
