Benson Hill Shari's Restaurant Closes Doors

Shari's Restaurant, a 24-hour pie bakery and cafe franchise in the North Benson Shopping Center, closed its doors for good several weeks ago in March after the restaurant chain and landlord declined to renew its lease.

Located at 10619 SE Carr Rd, the restaurant required a number of updates and repairs but no agreement could be reached with the shopping center owner, Trimark Property Group, and the restaurant closed in March, according to Michael Kiriazis, Shari's Restaurants Marketing Vice President.

"The simple answer was our lease was up," he said. "The landlord didn't renew it. For the most part, we didn't renew and we didn't have the opportunity to renew the lease."

Trimark, which has reportedly found another business interested in moving into the building, did not respond to requests for comment for this story.

Shari's Restaurants still operates a cafe near Downtown Renton, located at 1820 Maple Valley Hwy, just across the street from Cedar River Park.
