Renton has less than two days to show its support for the small business community via the "Mission: Small Business Campaign." Since Patch first posted this story, a few more local favorites have been added to the list including , Empower Financial and Invictus Foundation
In order to be in the running for a $250,000 grant, businesses need at least 250 votes.
The good news? A couple businesses have surpassed the 250-vote-mark, including Call My Play (269), happy delusions (259) — maybe our next story could be about their big win.
Original Post, June 26—
Listen up, small business owners:
That’s a pretty decent tip!
A panel of six business executives will select the winner later this summer. Panelists range from Tim O'Shaughnessy, CEO and Co-Founder of LivingSocial (now a household name), to Candace Nelson, Founder of Sprinkles Cupcakes, which began as a small bakery out of Hollywood, Calif. and now has 10 bakeries across the country.
If Nelson can rub elbows with the likes of O'Shaughnessy, who says Renton’s small business owners can’t achieve the same level of success?
Here’s were you come in, Patch readers: log in to the contest website via Facebook and vote for your favorite Renton-based small businesses. If they’re not yet listed, ad them! Renton's hard-working business man and women will thank you.
Each business needs at least 250 votes to get in the running for the $250,000-level grants. Applications will be accepted through June 30.
