SIFF Selections: May 25

'Donor' and 'A Quiet Life' will play tonight at the IKEA Performing Arts Center today as part of the Seattle International Film Festival.

 

SIFF Selections: Wednesday, May 25

6 p.m. Donor is a 84-minute Filipino film with English subtitles. The film follows a young woman who feels trapped in a life with a demanding boyfriend, and constantly fears armed robbers and raids. Try tries to make ends meet by donating one of her kidneys. The experience enlightens this heroine to a newer and somewhat safer world, and pays tribute to her strengths.

8:30 p.m. A Quiet Life, is a 103-minute Italian thriller with English subtitles. It follows a quaint family that owns and operates a hotel and restaurant in the German countryside. A questionable pair of guest stop in — and stay in a room at the inn for a lengthly time. Following a classic film noir theme, A Quiet Life is described as a "merciless thriller."

The film festival will continue in Renton through May 26 at the (IPAC). 

Now in its 37th year, SIFF will show films at multiple venues around Puget Sound in Seattle, Ballard, Everett, Kirkland, and Renton.
