SIFF Opening Night And Gala Nearly Sold Out; Movie Tickets Still Available

SIFF kicks off on May 20 and will run through May 26 in Renton.

The Seattle International Film Fest, best known as SIFF, kicks of today, Friday, May 20 with a 5 p.m. showing of Mama Africa at 5 p.m., and then Black, White and Blues at 7:30 p.m.

Both screenings will play on a new screen — donated by Brad Brotherton — at the (IPAC). 

Afterwards, attendees will migrate to the , located between the transit center and the , for a "bite of Renton." According to SIFF organizers, there are a few tickets left. Eight Renton restaurants will provide 500 "bites" each for the gala. Four local establishments have donated wine to pair with the bites.

The film festival will continue in Renton through May 26. Check the SIFF web site for show dates and times.

Now in its 37th year, SIFF will play films at multiple venues around Puget Sound in Seattle, Ballard, Everett, Kirkland, and Renton.
