Get Out & Enjoy The Arts This First Week Of Spring

It's the first weekend of Spring, and our picks for this weekend's activities are heavily based on the arts.

 

  • Where/When: 6 p.m., Thursday, March 22 at , 316 S. Third Street
  • Why Go: The  is your opportunity to find out what is going on in Renton Arts and Culture. Get involved, meet new people, or just learn about all of the exciting things going on in Renton. There is also a chance for you to win a prize with the Renton Passport Program. Hosted by the Renton Municipal Arts Commission and Allied Arts of Renton. 
  • Cost: Free.

  • Where/When: 5-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, at .
  • Why Go: The Renton PFLAG is hosting an all ages event (13-20) for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and allied youths this Saturday. Appetizers and beverages will be provided. Come dressed in your best ‘60s and early ‘70s costumes!
  • Cost: Free.

  • Where/When: 5:30-10 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, at .
  • Why Go: Go for the Gold at the annual Hazen Booster Club auction to raise money to support individual sports and clubs at Hazen High School.
  • Cost: Tickets are $50.

  • Where/When: 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, March 23-24, at .
  • Why Go: Get your live music fix this weekend at Luther’s Table. On Friday, enjoy the folk tunes of Gospel Showcase and then jam out with Sean and Aaron Bendickson on Saturday night.
  • Cost: No cover.

  • Where/When: 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, at the .
  • Why Go: Come get a “behind the scenes” look at how the Seattle Men’s Chorus prepares a show for the main stage this Saturday. The Chorus will pay tribute to the original mop-top quartet in Come Together. Using the precise transcriptions of The Beatles’ recordings, the Men’s Chorus will recreate a collection of favorite Lennon and McCartney tunes in exactly the same style as the originals you have known and loved.
  • Cost: Tickets are $10.

  • Where/When: 7 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 24-25, at in Bellevue.
  • Why Go: The Theatre at Meydenbauer Center presents the sing-along sensation with “The Sound of Music,” one of the most successful movie musicals of all time. This classic movie will be shown on a big screen while audiences enjoy a fun, liberating night out. Audience participation with subtitles for all songs is strongly encouraged.
  • Cost: Tickets are $22 for adults, $18 for students and seniors, $62 for a family pass, $17 for groups of 10 or more.
