SLIDESHOW: July Fourth Crowds Hit Gene Coulon Park; Fireworks Light Up Renton Skies
Fireworks — both professional and amateur — lit up the skies and peppered the evening with small explosions and pops.
Thousands of people from in and around Renton spent the day at
Renton Fire and Emergency Services, Renton Police, and Renton Parks staff maintained a strong presence in the park to help the event run smoothly. Officials did everything from assisting parents with locating lost children, hoisting small kiddos onto the driver's seat of a real fire engine, pointing out the location of public restroom, and answering other public service-related questions such as the ever-popular, "What time do the Fireworks begin?"
