Rain Couldn't Dampen The Holiday Spirit At Clam Lights

Did the weather keep you and your family away, or just make you think twice about bringing the camera?

In what may have been the wettest Clam Lights kick off in the event’s 19-year history, a little rain couldn’t dampen the holiday spirit.

All festivities continued as planned, with only a slight hiccup in the lighting of the clams. Despite the rain, families walked Gene Coulon Park, lined up by the dozens for horse-drawn wagon rides and caroled to their heart’s content at the north end picnic shelter.

Parking may also have been a bit easier this year, and warmth wasn’t a huge factor with temperatures hovering around the low 50s. The park will remain lit every night through Jan. 1 from 5 to 9 p.m.
