Puget Sound Energy is working to restore power to 7,000 customers in the Benson Hill and Cascde neighborhoods.

"It's one of our bigger outages,"Β said spokesperson Julie Hughes.

The outage was reported at about 1 p.m. Friday and appears to have affected the neighborhood surrounding Lindbergh High School, Cascade Elementary, the Benson Hill Fred Meyer and other areas.

The outage occurred after a PSE substation came offline, Hughes said. Crews are currently working to connect the affected customers to a separate power source.

Hughes isn't sure when power will be restored, but said it shouldn't be out for very much longer.

PSE isn't sure what caused the outage; they'll determine that after they get the affected customers back online, she said.
