While this text-message conversation is unlikely in Renton, at least one New Jersey town has made it by possible by banning texting while walking.
The Huffington Post reports that Fort Lee, NJ implemented the ban in late March, and officers have issued 117 violations to date.
The penalty for texting while walking? $85.
OMG...ouch.
Fort Lee authorities say it's an issue of safety and cited local and national instances in which texting contributed directly to accidents.
