Labor Day, The Unofficial 'Last Day Of Summer'

Beaches close, schools start and fall is in the air.

Labor Day 2012, the unofficial end of summer, has come and gone.

Parks Department personnel replaced the “strong swimmers only” signs along with “no Lifeguard on duty,” postings, the beach snack shack remained open just after dusk one last time, and beach lifeguards sported red sweatshirts as the sun dipped below Lake Washington. Kennydale Beach Park also closed for the season Monday night.

The beach will re-open mid-June 2013, although you’ll have one more chance to take a dip during the .
