January 1, 2013: Sixth Annual Polar Bear Dip

How do you plan to ring in the new year?

The sixth-annual Polar Bear Dip at Gene Coulon Memorial Beack Park will kick off at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 1, and it's looking like another cold and dry event will be underway this year.

The 2011 new year offered 41-degree waters, while 2012 offerd a slighlty warmer 45-degree lake temerature.

It's hard to say exactly how cold the lake will be on January 1, but WeatherChannel.com estimates morning temeratures in the upper 30s.
