How Do You 'Do the Puyallup?'

We want to feature our Renton neighbors in fair stories.

The Puyallup Fair runs Sept. 9-25, and Patch is looking for Renton residents participating at the fair, or anyone who plans on going to talk about the experience. You know: The food, the rides, the fun.

Are you a 4-H kid entering your prized rabbit? Are you a quilter showing your handiwork? Are you riding in the rodeo or entering your homemade brew for the chance of a ribbon?

Or maybe your goal is to ride every thrill ride at the fair after eating three bags of cotton candy (if you are, please let us know, so we can be there with a camera)? Or do you know of great places to park at the event, or have tips on how to enjoy the fair without breaking the bank?

Speaking of food, we understand that the fair, in the past, has had some — uh — deep-fried specialities, as in: Twinkies, pickles, cookie dough, Oreos and butter.

There will be non deep-fried food, too. Overall, the fair offers family fun before the winter shows up.

Whatever your fair plans, we'd like to know about them. Email Renton Patch Editor Jenny.Manning at jenny.manning@patch.com. Patch will have a booth at the fair, Sept. 9-15, so be sure to stop by and say "Howdy."
