Inspired Minds Create Phenomenal Furniture and Art Gallery in Mountain Town

Absolutely amazed. That’s the reaction when people first enter Studio 54 Furniture and Art Gallery, usually followed by “How can anything this great be way out here in Enumclaw?”

Superbly displayed in a dramatic setting, no other custom furniture, home furnishings and contemporary art gallery in the Pacific Northwest has the breath-taking impact than this newly-opened showcase.

National and international award-winning artists and artisans as well as emerging artists are showing their works in an architecturally astounding 7,000 square foot building that feels more like a modern art museum.

Among the approximately 35 artists are Bruce Holms, metal art sculptor whose public art graces the Northwest; June Sekiguchi, international sculptor who exhibited at Seattle Art Museum; Iris Scott, a rising sensation as a finger painter; Margaret Joyce Van Duine, glass artist whose giftware was selected for Academy Awards Emmy Nominee gift bags; Ross Brown, metal artist and previous art instructor at University of Washington; Gary LaTurner, award-winning painter and Terri Horton, an award –winning draperies designer.

Why the works of these noted artists are assembled in Enumclaw is another story.

Studio 54 is embarking on a bold new path, betting that this once sleepy town is on the cusp of becoming the next magnet for the arts. With a growing arts community of published authors, poets, musicians, actors, film makers and visual artists, this mountain town is reinventing its identity. Studio 54 has a vision to be a leader in the arts bringing tourists and buyers form the cities to the country.

The concept to create an upscale furniture and art gallery originated when four local furniture designers decided to collaborate. A local developer, a home builder, a sign maker, and a farmer create beautiful modern wood furniture as a sideline selling it to friends, home owners and businesses by word of mouth. So, this spring they formed an association to fill the large spaces of the vacated building located in Historic Downtown Enumclaw with their original tables, dressers, benches and chairs. They are ready for a bigger stage.

From that inspiration, the custom furniture shop expanded to a full service fine art gallery exhibiting first class fiber and fabric arts, jewelry, sculptures, photography, oils and acrylics, pottery, ceramic and glass art.

Already claimed to be one of Washington states most “walkable” cities, Studio 54 brings new prestige to downtown Enumclaw with its numerous gift shops, antique stores, specialty restaurants all within a three block square area. Visiting Studio 54 is introducing a new age in the visual arts where the rural meets the city in its practice of sophisticated taste.

Studio 54 is located at 1335 Cole street; hours are Wed- Sat form noon to 6 p.m. Wbsite is www.studio54gallery.com.
