Renton Sergeants, Detective, Officers Honored At City Council

Renton Police Chief Kevin Milosevich honors personnel with Meritorious Service Medal, Distinguished Service Medal, Norm Maleng Outstanding Law Enforcement Professionalism Award.

Renton Police Chief Kevin Milosevich honored seven department members for their outstanding service Monday evening at the Renton City Council meeting at City Hall.

Milosevich presented the Meritorious Service Medal to Sgt. Todd Frazier and Sgt. Tracy Wilkinson.

Frazier grew the Special Enforcement Team “from the ground up” and created a regionally recognized model, Miloseich said, calling Frazier, “the defenition of a leader.”

Wilkinson, who was selected to become a member of the Valley SWAT Team in 1996, was honored for his 15 years of service with SWAT. Wilkinson has been involved in more than 750 opperations, four of which included officer-involved shootings, Milosevich said.

“Wilkinson continues to display a calm and stalwart demeanor,” he said.

The Distinguished Service Medal went to Sgt. Steve Ritchie, and Officers Eric Stevens, Brian Augustyn, and Steve Rice (who was unable to attend) for their “heroic actions” during an apartment fire earlier this year.

“They placed their own lives in danger by running into a burning building,” he said.

Detective Andie Metzger received the Norm Maleng Outstanding Law Enforcement Professionalism Award for work on domestic violence cases.
