Blossoming Hill Montessori Wins "Reader's Choice"

Congratulations to this week's winner, Blossoming Hill Montessori.

Congratulations to our winner of this week’s : Blossoming Hill Montessori who garnered 36 percent of the vote. We received 847 votes and more than 20 comments. Clearly, Renton parents take their children’s education seriously.

It was a close race between Blossoming Hill Montessori, Cedar River Montessori, Highlands Preschool, and Cross and Crown. Here are a few of the Renton Patch reader comments:

"Blossoming Hill Montessori is an amazing place with phenomenal teachers. Our four children have had an awesome experience at the school. Although our oldest is now in public middle school, she's had the opportunity to volunteer and support the school on a regular basis, paying forward the wonderful Montessori education she received from two of the teachers at Blossoming Hill Montessori. Serving hot breakfast & lunch every day, family style is an invaluable way to practice manners, try new foods, socialize, share, and receive excellent nutrition; an overall unique experience at mealtime. We are also extremely pleased with the Visiting Artist program, allowing our kids to immerse themselves in a variety of projects and movement (clay, wire, wax, drumming, dancing, etc) and gain new perspectives from a multitude of teachers and teaching styles. All this in addition to an excellent Montessori education for our Kindergartener and 4th grader. The community at Blossoming Hill generates incredible support for the families and generally just rocks!"

"When you drive down the driveway to Cedar River Montessori - you know that you are entering someplace special. The school has a great outdoor campus area including animals (goats, sheep, alpaca, llama) and garden that provide the pre-schoolers opportunities to interact and learn care with nature. Inside, the uniqueness continues. The Montessori teachers are caring and are focused on providing opportunities for your child to blossom. The teachers understand early childhood development with solid background in academic and social growth. They have been able to nurture my one son's love of math. Our youngest son just started and we continue to be impressed with the school. The great thing is that the school continues through middle school - so when your child soars - you can keep him flying!"

"My oldest has been going to Highlands Preschool for 3 years and my youngest starts this coming Fall. Highlands has been open for over 55 years - it's an independent preschool that is also a 501c3. The staff is amazing and most of their children attended the school as little ones. I'm honored to be part of the board and to have found such an amazing gem in the Renton Highlands."

"I have sent my 3 kids to Cross and Crown Preschool and they all have loved it! The teachers are very friendly and love working with kids. My older kids who have graduated from Cross and Crown Preschool were prepared for Kindergarten. The building is clean and the space is very kid friendly. They have a lot of great events for the kids and families - Reptile Man, Remlinger Farms Field Trip, Nancy Stewart Concert, Eric Ode Concert, Halloween Party, Buck & Elizabeth Concert and family BBQ, Pacific Science Center Bus, and so much more. Pastor Glen comes over to join the kids with music at least once a week and the kids really love this. They encourage parents to volunteer and keep you in the loop with what is happening at school. I would highly recommend sending your child to Cross & Crown Preschool. I plan to send my 4th child there when she turns 3."
